to other sources of ACTECO -related information. Symposium "Industrial Application of Plasma Technology" - April 7, Ghent (Belgium) This
symposium was organised on the occasion of the final General Assembly
meeting of the ACTECO project. A general introduction was given
on plasma technology and its use for textile,
packaging and biomedical applications.
About 90 representatives from the industry that are involved in plasma
equipment and processes development (both in the function of technology
developer as in the function of (potential) user) as well as from academia and research centres attended this event. Link to the presentations (password required).
What is ACTECO?
The acronym "ACTECO"
stands for "ECO EFFICIENT ACTIVATION FOR HYPER FUNCTIONAL SURFACES".
ACTECO is a Integrated Project
dedicated to SMEs within the thematic priority of Nanotechnologies of
the 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission. ACTECO unites
high tech SMEs, Industrial companies, end users, universities and research
institutes from 8 countries to achieve its main objective of
developing plasma technology for functionalising surfaces for textiles,
biomedical and food applications.
The project has started on 01 May 2005 and runs for 4
years.
